Sunitha G. Pudhota, MD

Sunitha G. Pudhota, MD is a board certified gastroenterologist with more than two decades of clinical experience in the diagnosis and treatment of digestive disorders. She founded Summit Gastroenterology with a clear mission: to provide adult patients in the Dallas-Fort Worth area with the same level of attentive, individualized care she would want for her own family.

Dr. Pudhota earned her medical degree from NTR University of Health Sciences in 2000 and went on to complete her residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine Jacksonville from 2002 to 2005. She then pursued subspecialty fellowship training in Gastroenterology at the same institution, completing her fellowship in 2009.

Throughout her career, Dr. Pudhota has developed particular expertise in colon cancer screening and prevention, the management of inflammatory bowel disease, endoscopic procedures, and the evaluation of complex GI symptoms. She takes pride in taking the time to truly listen to her patients, explain their options in plain language, and work collaboratively toward the best possible outcomes.

Dr. Pudhota believes that an informed patient is an empowered patient. Whether a patient is coming in for a routine screening colonoscopy or navigating a new diagnosis, she is committed to making the experience as clear, comfortable, and compassionate as possible.
